I’ve seen Josie evolve her individual style of the last few years and from incredibly detailed etchings in a relatively small format, to acrylic and oil very large canvases. She has developed a particularly dramatic eye for wild animals often in close up, which is very unusual and attractive. I have a couple of originals and a later print of her tiger painting which I am really fond of.

Really love my print of the Pangolin painting ‘Ancient Wanderer’ by Josie Ryan

I was lucky enough to be gifted a Josie Ryan etching a while ago. The subject: the majestic head with a beady eye, the soft fluffiness of the feathers makes me believe he’s just a youngster, yet his sharp beak precludes me going too close! Josie’s line work in this etching is unbelievable. Josie knows both her animals and her art.

I have received two etchings from Josie. The way she blends vivid colours with the powerful essence of wild animals is simply breathtaking. Her artwork doesn’t just hang on my wall – it feels alive, like it’s telling a story of the wilderness! I love it!
