Guardian of the Savannah

€3.700 EUR

Guardian of the Savannah’ illustrates a side view portrait of a white rhino. With only 16,830 left in the wild, many conservation organisations are working tirelessly to reverse their decline. This piece serves as a call to action, reminding us of the many beautiful creatures on earth that need our recognition and appreciation. This species holds a personal significance for me, as I once worked in South Africa with a veterinary conservation organisation dedicated to combating poaching.

I have captured the lines and marks of age along the rhino's face, highlighting the struggles these creatures endure in the face of mankind. Gold hues accentuate the eyes, imparting a sense of gentleness to the animal. Light browns and greys bring out the natural beauty and strength of the rhino.
